Ferret

Ferrets can be fed ferret food from a pet supply store or a good quality cat food. Ferret food is more expensive then cat food but does provide exactly what the ferret needs in its diet. However a good quality cat food can ... be fed and is almost the same thing as ferret food. Dry and can can both be fed. They can also from time to time be fed dog food. You can give your ferret leftover fully cooked meats from time to time as a tasty treat.

Ferrets must be fed a basic diet of a high quality dry ferret or kitten food. They enjoy fruit or sweet vegetables such as grapes, bananas, carrots, peanut butter, etc., as treats. Dairy products, nuts or similar items which the animals may swallow whole must be avoided.

The Ferret shared many similar design features with the Dingo, but featured a larger fighting compartment and an optional small machine gun turret. It was built from an all-welded monocoque steel body, making the drive extremely noisy as all the running gear was within the enclosed body with the crew. Four wheel drive was incorporated together with "Run Flat" tyres. The turret, though not fitted to all models, carried a single machine gun. Six grenade launchers fitted to the hull (three on each side) could carry smoke grenades in British service.

Ferret people have made up many ferret colors over the ferrets time, but really, there are only four basic colors of a ferret. The Sable, (including chocolate and dark) Albino, Dark Eyed White (DEW), and the silver. All the other crazy colors of a ferret fall right into one of these four categories.

Ferrets should be housed in a cage when supervision, or a dedicated ferret proof room cannot be provided. The cage should provide ample room for playing, as well as house a litter box, water bottle, food bowl, and various hammocks to relax in. Rabbit cages or cages of this size are not appropriate. While they will be content and happy in their cage, they do require ample time out of their cage to run free and burn off the energy they have an abundance of. Minimally, they should let out for 3-4 hours each day.

The Ferret was developed in 1949 as a result of the British Army's need to obtain a replacement model for its Second World War light armoured vehicles. Due to the success of their Reconnaissance Scout Car, the "Dingo", Daimler was employed to design and manufacture the Ferret.
