Facial feminization surgery is important because the face commonly provides the first visual clues and impression people have regarding the sex of an individual. While other body parts can be hidden or exagerated to appear more feminine, for the most part it’s difficult to create feminine face features without facial feminization surgery.

If government transfer programs played a large role in the feminization of poverty and the recent reversal of the trend, then changes in these programs should correspond to changes in poverty rates and sex-poverty ratios. To some extent, the trend in benefits corresponds to the trends in poverty rates. During the years in which feminization first occurred—1950 to 1970—both AFDC and Social Security were expanding rapidly, not only in terms of the number of people covered but ... in terms of the value of the benefits themselves. AFDC rose during the 1950s and 1960s, as the federal government waged a "War on Poverty." Similarly, Social Security pension coverage was expanded during these two decades and the value of the benefit was increased several times.

The Feminization of American Culture is interesting in that it provides portraits of little-known Victorian writers and clergymen. Unfortunately, that historical information is used in the service of a poorly structured, single-minded thesis.

Figure 7c describes how a female face is transformed by increased feminization. The left column shows the directionality of displacement of parts of the face; the blue part moves inward and the red part outwards; stronger color implies that the directionality of the displacement is closer to right angles to the surface. The middle column shows the magnitude of the displacement; stronger color implies greater magnitude of change; the color coding at each point is in 33% percentiles. The right column shows change in [local] surface area; red implies increase and blue decrease; color coding at each point is in 33% percentiles, with darker colors implying the upper percentiles.

Below is a partial listing of herbs often sold separately or in mix (formula’s) used for the purpose of aiding in the feminization of genetic males, due at least in part to the presence phyto-steroids. Along with the listing are brief explanations of their common medicinal uses. You will notice that not all of the descriptions of the medicinal uses include reference to their phyto-estrogenic properties. Herbal products vary a great deal in potency, as such it is very difficult to say how much of what type or combination of herbs would be needed to bring about feminization in genetic males. Couple this with the fact that for feminization to occur; the naturally occurring testosterone production must ... be overcome before feminization can take place and you can see the reason for the more common as well as predictable use of pharmaceutically compounded hormones.

Facial feminization surgery involves facial plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery and reconstructive surgery. Though the skills required for facial feminization surgery are better known than those for male-female genital sex reassignment surgery, a surprisingly few highly experienced and skilled surgeons for facial feminization surgery exist.
