   Lizzie (Felicity Kendal) is an actress in a Shakespearean theater troupe that has seen better days. The troupe tours India to dwindling crowds who are less interested in all things British in the wake of Indian independence. When she has an affair with the Indian playboy Sanju (Shashi Kapoor), Lizzie feels the wrath of her disapproving father Tony (Geoffrey Kendal) and her mother Carla (Laura Liddell). 2. Felicity Huffman (Huffman, Felicity - People)
   Beyond talented, it is about time that Felicity Huffman is getting the recognition she deserves. It started in September when she walked away with an Emmy for her role on "Desperate Housewives," beating out all the other ladies on Wisteria Lane in the process. Then in January she snatched up the Golden Globe. And sure, she may have lost out on the Oscar this year, but that doesn't exactly make her a slouch. An Oscar nomination is still a hefty addition to the old resume.
3. Felicity Huffman (Huffman, Felicity - People) -- Desperate Housewives
   Well-known member of the ensemble cast of TV Series “Desperate Housewives” Felicity Huffman has probably nailed the breakthrough role of her career. Her portrayal of Bree was utterly unrecognizable to those who are used to watching her on “Desperate Housewives”. The entire make up, dressing, behavior changes and vocal training helped Felicity Huffman to bring on a convincing pre male to female transsexual operation personality on screen. If it was hard for a male to cross role as a female, it must have been twice the effort for a woman to learn how to be a man who is going to be a female.
4. Felicity Huffman (Huffman, Felicity - People) -- Movie
   To make sure it doesn't, Huffman's Bree goes to the other extreme. She is hyper-feminine, favoring pink suits and breathy pronouncements that she means to sound womanly but that seem stagy instead. Her discomfort in her still-transforming skin is obvious. Although she lives in anything-goes Los Angeles, she's spinster prim. Tucker says that at first movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, whose new company is distributing ''Transamerica" domestically, didn't even recognize Huffman on screen.
5. Felicity Huffman (Huffman, Felicity - People) -- Duncan Tucker
   Heartbreaking honesty, gentle comedy, tough sexual situations and romantic ideals are blended into fascinating unit through the dazzling acting of Felicity Huffman and Kevin Zegers. Duncan Tucker strips every shred of controversy and hype out of this film, and presents it head-on, as a story of courageous self-recognition and resurrection as a shattered family heals itself. The delicate, instinctive performance from Kevin Zegers is a perfect complement to Felicity Huffman’s genius and it makes this film a unique achievement.

   Peter Hall’s production of Amy’s View, starring Felicity Kendal, begins previews at London’s Garrick Theatre Nov. 14. The revival of David Hare’s play - the first in London since its National Theatre premiere in 1997 - officially opens Nov. 20.

   Since landing the role of Lynette Scavo on the ABC hit Desperate Housewives, Felicity Huffman has been on magazine covers like Vanity Fair and co-won a Screen Actors Guild Award for best ensemble TV comedy series. But Huffman, who has been acting since she was 10, says she'll always find time to do "little interesting movies because the parts are great." Fans can soon catch her ‑- though they may not recognize her ‑- as a transsexual facing some obstacles before his sexual reorientation operation in Transamerica, which premieres in December.

   Follow the adventures of gardeners and amateur sleuths Rosemary Boxer (Felicity Kendal) and Laura Thyme (Pam Ferris) as they continue to sow the seeds of justice. This season, the duo digs up danger in a memorial garden, find a bad seed among the cast of a reality TV show and uncover a corpse in Engleton Park, among other cases. With a blend of logic and intuition, the green-thumbed gumshoes can't help weeding out wrongdoers.
