Kendal did her first nude scene at 49 in Stoppard's Indian Ink, and in 2002 was tottering around in stilettos and full slap as the sexy mother-from-hell in Charlotte Jones's Humble Boy. Even in this year's execrable murderandgardening sitcom Rosemary and Thyme (an anomaly in a long period of theatre roles) she was the totty.
