Fairfax, Va., July 8, 2004 -- Today, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a plan to resolve the ongoing and growing problem of interference to public safety radio systems operating in the 800 MHz band. The new band plan for the 800 MHz band will address the root cause of the interference problem by separating generally incompatible technologies. The costs of relocating 800 MHz incumbents are to be paid by Nextel Communications, Inc.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XM Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: XMSR) today announced that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued new grants of authority for three XM radios with FM transmitters after determining that the radios are in compliance with FCC regulations. These XM plug-and-play radios -- Audiovox Xpress, Delphi RoadyXT, and XM Sportscaster -- are three of XM's primary products at retail. XM is notifying its manufacturers to resume production of these devices. These new products are expected to be available at retail for the holiday shopping season.
