Faye Dunaway: Big Man
built 656 days ago
Born prematurely, Faye Dunaway has claimed that her will and discipline helped her survive and she has utilized those same qualities in achieving the career longevity she has enjoyed. Originally intending to become a teacher, she chose to pursue a career in acting and transferred from a college in her native Florida to Boston University. Following her 1962 graduation, Dunaway faced a choice most young actresses could only dream about: a Fulbright scholarship to study at LAMDA or a guaranteed acting job as a member of the American National Theatre and Academy (ANTA) in its production of "A Man for All Seasons". She chose the latter has never looked back.

Faye was wearing casual sweats, little wire rim glasses, an iPod, and a Gilligan hat. She turned to the man behind her and said "There's going to be a lot of kids here in a few minutes, don't you think?"
"The Yards," co-starring Faye Dunaway and James Caan, is set in the New York subway yards. Wahlberg plays Leo Handler, a young man trying to get his life on track after a jail stint. Phoenix is his longtime friend Willie Guitierrez who finds himself trapped in this yard world of sabotage, payoffs and murders that trace back to his own ruthless family.

While her success as a film star is unquestioned, Faye Dunaway’s shortfalls are equally well known. Like any dramatic epic, Dunaway’s career is marked with exhilarating highs and painful lows. Audience and critic reactions to "The Arrangement" (1969) and "Little Big Man" (1970) were frosty, so Dunaway took a working sabbatical in theatre. She starred in stage productions of "A Streetcar Named Desire", and "Curse of the Aching Heart" before working again in film.
