1. Arena Football -- Arena Football League
   The Arena Football League (AFL) is a professional indoor football league in the United States. The league is very young, having been founded in 1987 with the first game (“playtest game”) taking place between the Rockford Metros and the Chicago Politicians. The AFL ... governs a minor/developmental league called the af2 (arenafootball2) which was established in 2000. Fan attendance has seen highs and lows throughout the league’s history but recently it has hit an upward surge; average attendance in 2007 was over 12,000.

   The Sports Blitz is the only program in Washington State dedicated to the accomplishments of High School athletes. Coverage will go through the football season, from tipoff to finals in hoops and every sport in between from the fall through the end of March.
4. Notre Dame Football
   Notre Dame's all time record stands at 824 wins, 278 losses, and 42 ties. Its 824 wins are second only to Michigan and its 278 losses are the lowest of any college programs that have been playing football for 100 years or more.

   American football did not have an auspicious beginning at the University of Notre Dame. In their inaugural game on November 23, 1887 the Irish lost to Michigan by a score of 8–0. Their first win came in the final game of the 1888 season when the Irish defeated Harvard Prep by a score of 20–0. At the end of the 1888 season they had a record of 1–3 with all three losses being at the hands of Michigan by a combined score of 43–9. Between 1887 and 1899 Notre Dame compiled a record of 31 wins, 15 losses, and four ties against a diverse variety of opponents ranging from local high school teams to other universities. At the beginning of the 20th century college football began to increase in popularity and became more standardized with the introduction of the Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the United States (IAAUS) in 1906.
