Fan Profiles add a new dimension to Friendster's broad and global social network, and the feature has the potential to gain traction domestically and internationally. Friendster currently receives nearly 30 million monthly unique visitors and serves over 250 million pages daily to a user base in more than 75 countries.* Additionally, Friendster is a top-100 Web site in 17 countries on four continents. - Battlestar Galactica -- Fans
Battlestar Galactica fan dilbertman posted a new report at Colonial Fleets: "Just saw this in the August 2003 copy of Sci Fi magazine. On page 9 there is a story about Paul G. Allen co-founder of Microsoft. He is planning to invest $10 to $20 million to build a 'cultural project' in Seattle that will seek to draw visitors into the science-fiction experience. Preliminary plans suggest that if it comes to fruition, it would be part museum, part amusement park and part little boy's fantasy. Tentatively called 'SFX: The Science Fiction Experience', the project is to fill 13,000 square feet of the exhibit space that has been part of the Experience Music Project. The sci-fi project is scheduled to open in the summer of 2004. - Fan Fiction -- Stories
Fan fiction has become more popular and widespread since the advent of the World Wide Web. Many archives such as The Gossamer Project were created, hosting specific sorts of stories, or stories for specific fandoms. In 1998 FanFiction.Net came online. At the time of its initial creation, it accepted any sort of writing, original or fan fiction. It has since separated its original fiction section to another website and banned several subgenres, including explicitly sexual stories (referred to as "NC-17" before the Motion Picture Association of America chose to enforce its ownership of the MPAA ratings system), real person fiction, and stories featuring song lyrics (the latter two in order to avoid legal problems, including copyright infringement for unauthorized use of lyrics). This ability to self-publish fan fiction at a common archive, and the ability to review the stories directly on the site, became popular quite quickly. - Friendster -- Friendster Fan Profile

On June 5, 2005, Kimberly "Page" Whetsell lost her life to Cystic Fibrosis. In her honor, her friends and family have come together to create Page's Run, a 5K walk/run to benefit the Page's Memorial Foundation. - Geraldine Page -- Play
In 1953, Page was brought to Hollywood to play opposite John Wayne in Hondo as Angie Lowe, a homesteader with child, abandoned by her husband. Warner Brothers executives were unimpressed with her despite an Oscar nomination; she was not offered another Hollywood film until the 1960s. After the two Tennessee Williams roles, she became somewhat typecast as a spinster or neurotic, as evidenced by her characters in Toys in the Attic, Dear Heart, and You're a Big Boy Now. Her eccentric image was pushed to its sinister extreme, epitomizing evil behind a sweet facade, in such films as The Beguiled and Whatever Happened to Aunt Alice?, while her comic abilities were showcased in Pete 'n' Tillie (notably her frustration when police demand to know her real age). - Free Web Pages -- Service
The Free Auction currently provides users with access to a rich collection of on-line resources, including personal web page hosting services (the "Service"). Unless explicitly stated otherwise, any new features that augment or enhance the current Service, including the release of new The Free Auction resources, shall be subject to the TOS. You must be at least 18 years of age to access and view such areas. - The Archies -- Ron Dante
Don Kirshner suffered additional headaches when bogus Archies bands started popping up in the southern United States. He was forced to take several thousand dollars' worth of legal action against their promoters. The proliferation of these groups was an indication of how much demand there was to hear Archies hits performed live. Unfortunately, that demand was never truly satisfied, and this ... contributed to the group's demise. The studio Archies, in the persons of Ron Dante and Donna Marie, finally did make a live appearance at a charity benefit in Kenilworth, New Jersey, but this last-minute nod to promotional considerations was too little, too late. The TV series stopped airing original rock tunes after the 1970/71 season, and its ratings began a slow but steady decline. - John Denver -- World
Through the '70s, country-pop singer-songwriter John Denver was one of the most successful recording artists in the world. Of his albums, 12 are gold and four are platinum, and in the mid-'70s he had a string of gold singles.
