F. Gary Gray: Italian Job
built 199 days ago
"The Italian Job's" director, F. Gary Gray, believes one of the main selling points of this updated, reworked remake is its intelligent humor. To capture that humor, Gray needed to find actors who would each bring something unique to the project. Summing up Mark Wahlberg, Gray notes, "[He] has a quiet intelligence just right for the master planner he portrays."
The BBC talked to The Italian Job director F. Gary Gray about a possible sequel to this summer's hit film. According to the trade, the sequel would be called The Brazilian Job.

Shari Lansing, the President of Paramount Studios called Gray and asked him if he would be interested in directing this picture. He believes that the reason he got that call was because she knew he can "…deliver action with characters you get to know that have warmth. The chief job of a filmmaker is to witness the human condition. A director must know when to pull the reigns tight and when to loosen them. It's about finesse."
