Exodus

Avalon was eventually destroyed by the mutant Holocaust (the son of an alternate reality Apocalypse), and Exodus was cut off from both the Acolytes and the still-comatose Magneto. While seeking to hold on to leadership of the Acolytes, he raised some of their numbers from the dead, including Cortez. At one point, his leadership was threatened by Joseph, a clone of Magneto who was thought by many to be the real Magneto. Joseph rejected leadership of the Acolytes. Exodus later sought Isotope E, a creation of the High Evolutionary which could master the evolutionary process. Allied with the High Evolutionary's nemesis the Man-Beast, Exodus fought Quicksilver and the Heroes for Hire.

As for the argument of some Jews that they do not depend on the veracity of the Exodus for their faith, from a Jewish standpoint this is destructive nonsense. If the Exodus did not occur, there is no Judaism. Judaism stands on two pillars — creation and exodus. Judaism no more survives the denial of the Exodus than it does the denial of the Creator. Creation and Exodus are coequal Jewish claims. A creator God who never intervened in human affairs is Aristotle’s unmoved mover, not the God the Jews introduced to the world.
Directed by Penny Woolcock, Exodus was made in Margate and will be broadcast on Channel 4 and on cinema release in 2007. Leading actor Bernard Hill (Lord of the Rings, Titanic) takes the part of Pharoah and Ger Ryan (Queer as Folk, Fat Friends, and The Street) plays Pharoah’s wife, Batya. RADA-trained actor Daniel Percival (Vital Signs, Sinchronicity) plays Moses and rising newcomer Clare-Hope Ashitey (Children of Men, Shooting Dogs) plays Zipporah, Dreamland resident and eventual wife of Moses. Moses’ brother Aaron is played by local first-time actor Anthony Johnson and Delroy Moore, a foster carer living in Margate plays wise school teacher Jethro. Other speaking parts and the several hundred extras are all non-actors from Margate and the Isle of Thanet.
The Exodus begins after the Pharaoh issues the expulsion order following the tenth plague, and the Israelites go to Succoth. The nobles of Egypt object to Pharaoh's consent, and so Pharaoh gathers together a large army to chase after the Israelites, who have by this point reached what is usually translated as the 'Red Sea' [3].Fortunately for the Israelites, they are divinely guarded, and are able to make their passage through the Red Sea when God causes the waters to part as Moses leads his people through. The waters collapse on the persuing Egyptians once the Israelites have passed, defeating Pharaoh, and according to Islam, Pharaoh himself drowned, but his body was saved for the future generations, and the Israelites joyfully sing the Song of the Sea [4]. In 13:21, the Lord is described as going ahead in a pillar of cloud by day, and a pillar of fire by night to lead the Israelites.

The Exodus client was originally developed by Peter Millard, a longtime contributor to the Jabber/XMPP community. Peter started working on Exodus as a replacement for Winjab (one of the very early Jabber clients), and the Exodus codebase reflected everything he knew about Jabber technologies and specifically the challenges involved in building a modular, robust client for Windows.

Once the kings of the Bay Area metal scene (widely accepted as the birthplace of thrash), Exodus were unceremoniously demoted from their post with the arrival of Los Angeles' Metallica in 1982. Sadly, with a little more luck, the group may have occupied the role of, say, Slayer as the purest purveyors of ultra-thrash, but while they continued to be perceived as a major influence by younger bands and proceeded to carve out a career of their own over the next decade, Exodus were ultimately fated to be the ultimate ...-rans of the genre they helped spawn.
