   Emmy award winner Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) plays Paula McFadden, a woman who has recently been dumped by her live-in boyfriend who just so happens to be the second actor in a row that she has fallen for. The boyfriend skips town one day and sublets the apartment without informing Paula. Later that night, a stranger named Elliot Garfield arrives at her door, brilliantly played by Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, Speed). Elliot is ... an actor and a friend of Paula's ex-boyfriend who claims that the apartment was sublet to him just the previous day. After much bickering and refusing to leave, Paula strikes an agreement with Elliot: if he pays the rent until she can find a job, she will abide by his rules of the household. Let the brawl begin.

   Patricia has talked about how before she got cast in Everybody Loves Raymond, she was clipping coupons on her porch to save a few cents on some ballpark franks. When she was told that there was a new television show looking for a "Patty Heaton type," she went into the audition all flustered, because she was having babysitter issues at home. Apparently, though, this demeanor was a reflection of what the casting directors wanted in the Debra Barone character, so it helped Heaton land the job. (edit)

   Ray Romano grew up in the Forest Hills section of the borough of Queens in New York City and turned to comedy in his mid-twenties after appearing at an open-mic night in a New York comedy club in 1984. He won awards from the Television Critics Association (Outstanding Individual Achievement in Comedy, 1999), the American Comedy Awards (Funniest Male Lead in a TV Series, 2000), and TV Guide (Actor of the Year in a Comedy Series, 2001).     Oh poor Chris, he never gets a break does he. It’s one of the reasons why Everybody Hates Chris is such a fun TV show. Julius (Terry Crews) is such a funny father, he does some of the craziest things and Rochelle (Tichina Arnold), don’t mess with her. You should definitely give this TV show a shot if you haven’t already.
