Everwood, for those who haven't seen it, is about a famous neurosurgeon, Dr. Andy Brown (Treat Williams), whose wife dies in the pilot. Fame had to do partly due to his dedication, but this translates into being a "workaholic" especially when it means missing almost every important event in your family's life. His 15-year-old son Ephram (Gregory Smith) despises him. He was amazingly close to his mother, but practically a stranger to his father. Delia (Vivien Cardone), Andy's 9-year-old daughter, is still too young to have garnered anything but love and admiration for her father. Soon after the death of his wife, Andy decides to move the entire family to the small mountain town of Everwood, Colorado where he opens a doctors office where he sees patients for free.
Everwood While packing up her house and preparing to leave Everwood with Jake, Nina tells Hannah that she knows Andy bought an engagement ring for her. Hannah convinces Nina to sneak into the house while the Browns are out to get a look at the ring. Later, Jake finds out about the ring and confronts Andy once again about his feelings for Nina. At Delia’s Bat Mitzvah, Amy watches Ephram with his new girlfriend Stephanie, and realizes her feelings for Ephram are still strong. When one of Harold’s patients leaves her baby on the Abbott’s doorstep, Harold wrestles with the right course of action while Rose immediately becomes attached to the little girl. After their house has been sold, Nina and Sam temporarily move in with the Browns.

Now wrapping its third season, Everwood's soap tropes — unexpected pregnancy, adultery — handles these stories artfully. The buildup to Ephram's (Gregory Smith) discovery that he's a father from a former dalliance was slow and intricate. pow! The fallout scenes between Ephram and his high school sweetheart, Amy Abbott (Emily VanCamp), have been hushed, well-intentioned, doomed debates; watching Andy deal with the blame is stomach-pitting. Now, at the season's end, Amy's mother, Rose (Merrilyn Gann), has been diagnosed with cancer. The story feels intricate and resounding.

To date, only the first season of Everwood has been released on DVD. During an online with Warner Home Video representatives on June 6, 2006, the official response to several questions about the remaining seasons of Everwood was that the studio was not planning on releasing any additional seasons at this time. At the 2007 Warner Home Video chat, Warner Bros. acknowledged the demand for the remaining seasons of the show to be released, but said that the music costs are prohibitive. They continued to state that they are evaluating the option to release the show with music substitution but at this time they just don't know.[3]
