Euro: Currencies
built 669 days ago
The euro, often signified by €EUR, is the currency used in 13 members of the European Union, as well as regions such as Montenegro, Kosovo, Andorra and more. In January of 2008, Cyprus and Malta are scheduled to convert to the euro. The euro is the result of the most significant monetary reform in Europe since the Roman Empire. While creation of this currency is most obviously a channel through which Europe may perfect a single market (by facilitating free trade between members of the Eurozone), the euro is just as importantly a means through which Europe may achieve political integration.

Within the first month of circulation, it was noted that many unfortunate Euro users were being blown up by the new currency. The reason for this was eventually determined to be that the currency was created out of Anti-matter, so that if any currency came into contact with any forgeries, the two would react violently and destroy the counterfeit money. Unfortunately, the currency ... was prone to asplode if exposed to any other form of matter.
The euro became the official currency of these nations in 1999, but nations were not obliged to phase out their existing currencies until 2002. The expectation is that introduction of the euro will stimulate cross-border investment by eliminating fluctuating exchange rates.
