ProLogis Park 70-Etna is a 220-acre master-planned park offering strategic access to major roadways as well as Port Columbus International Airport and the new Rickenbacker Intermodal Terminal. The park currently consists of three facilities totaling approximately 1.6 million square feet; one of which is being developed to meet the qualifications for a silver "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design" (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). At full build-out the park will feature five facilities comprising 3.4 million square feet.
Etna is a small town of 780 people roughly twenty five miles to the west of Yreka on Highway 3 in Siskiyou County in Northern California. It's situated at about 3500 feet in altitude in the verdant Scott Valley. In addition to more natural beauty than is healthy, Etna ... features a gas station, grocery store, hardware store, second hand store, Asian goods store, two bars, a music shop, a theater (stage), video store, a public swimming pool, and seven churches. Etna was formerly a gold mining and timber town. Timber production has slowed in recent years, which many locals blame on "environmentalists". Farming is another common occupation in the area.

The ship is equipped with a surface search radar (RASS) supplied by Alenia Marconi Systems, now Selex Sistemi Integrati, a Selex CTI 20 command and control system and an Elmer MAC integrated telecommunications system.
Etna has the longest record of historic eruptions. The first recorded eruption was in 1500 B.C. Since then Etna has erupted at nearly 200 times. Most of these eruptions gentle effusion of lava or Strombolian explosions.
Activity at Etna's summit craters has increased over the weekend. Eruptions have once again started at Bocca Nuova after a several month period of little activity there. There was ... a series of ash emissions from NE Crater on June 1. This is the first time NE Crater has been active since March 27. Activity continues at several other craters in the form of lava flows and explosions. These explosions are currently occurring every 1-2 seconds.
PS: The Etna eruption, among other things, produced a small quantity of Pele's hair. This fine-fibered volcanic glass is more familiar from Hawaii, where the liquid basaltic lava is readily blown in the wind. The 2001 eruption at Etna was nearer to basalt than the usual magma composition. That may be an indication of a new major eruption cycle, which progresses from basalt through andesite to rhyolite as the magma chamber empties.
