Last season West was a class 5A State Champion winning the No. 1 State Singles title in 2007. As a junior at Tulsa Union High School, West helped his team win the State Championship title in 2006, while grabbing the No. 2 State Singles title.

As the year went on West continued to work on his album Half Life. West was scheduled to tour the UK as opening act for British artist Matt Goss famous for UK hits "When Will I Be Famous", "Try" and "I'm Coming With Ya", but the tour was canceled due to Goss' ill health at the time.

The Emissary is a mental construct that represents the wishes of the Entity, a vast extra-dimensional creature which rebuilt Eric at a subatomic level... granting him his powers. The Emissary is currently imprisoned in The Cell, a mental barrier within Eric's mind, but the ward weakens during times of great stress, fatigue, or loss. During these times, the Emissary almost always makes a bid to regain control of Ascendant.
