With Fujitsu, D&A’s integration partner, the company evaluated a number of receipt printers and decided on Epson’s compact TM-T88 series. Producing receipts at a rate of up to 200mm per second, they enable staff to provide a fast, efficient service at the PoS. In addition, the TM-T88’s easy-to-use features such as drop-in paper load, means that “changing a receipt roll takes just seconds”, according to Mole.

In closing his article, he gives a sneak peak at the upcoming Epson 1270 UPGRADE model!! The Epson 7000 series printer will have the same quality as the 1270, but will handle 24" paper. The expected price is "under $4,000 U.S." Yet another variation of the 7000 series will offer pigment based ultra archival inks that Epson will rate at 100+ years!

It can work fine as long as you use with Epson inks or inks made for an Epson printer. All the manufacturers design their paper so that it works best with their inks, so that way you will essentially be forced to keep buying their ink and their paper. There really is no one paper that is better than the other, so Epson paper is on par with everyone else's.
