The Epson Stylus DX5000 is today’s Epson all around leading printer. This printer can do it all at a moderate price. Print, scan or pop out some pictures of the highest quality this printer does it all. The cost of printer cartridges has not been found but the mixing system can blend color so that tones in the face are remarkably clear.

These epson printers on occasion may show the ink cartridges as being empty. The chip resetter will reset the micro-chip in the cartridge to allow the printer and computer to continue using the ink cartridges. The Micro-Chip Resetter is ... used if you choose to refill the "ESET605" Style Ink Cartridges with the Edible Ink Refill Kit.

In late 2006, Epson introduced easily the best value fine art printer available on the market today in the form of the Epson 3800 A2 sized printer. This printer has 9 ink tanks, 8 of which are used on any particular print (the photo black ink is used when printing on gloss and semi-gloss papers, the matte black ink for all matte papers). All the tanks are loaded at the same time, meaning no swapping of cartridges is required when switching between materials.

Epson leaves ink in the cartridges (and in fact have done so ever since they developed the piezo-electric head) due to the way the capping mechanism works. If the capping mechanism dries out, then the heads risk getting clogged, and ... an expensive repair will be necessary. The reason that the Dutch Consumer Association retracted their statement was because it was pointed out that Epson actually states how many pages (at usually a 5% coverage of an A4 sheet of paper) each cartridge can print.
