Since the 1980s Rick's Cabarets have enjoyed a reputation for offering high quality entertainment for gentlemen at upscale nightclubs, featuring beautiful women and fine restaurant service. Anna Nicole Smith met her wealthy husband while dancing at Rick's Cabaret in Houston. Thirteen performers from Rick's have become Penthouse Pets (three have been named Pet of the Year) while three have become Playboy Playmates. Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. went public in 1995. Mr. Langan joined the company in 1998 and has led it since 1999. He has steadily expanded Rick's operations, adding new club formats and growing revenues and profit.

Let's be fair: Enter The Matrix has almost its fair share of good bits. The hacking mode is a bit of a laugh, the combat can be quite fun (and if you haven't played Max Payne you'll probably enjoy it even more), it's reasonably lengthy (more than the seven hours we've seen quoted elsewhere, especially if you play it on Normal and go for both campaigns), it has slow-motion sniping and some madcap running-away-from-agents rooftop chases, and it plugs some of the gaps in and poses more brain-teasing questions about a storyline that has most of the world hooked, but it is blighted on so many levels by the blundering stupidity of its malformed stillborn design that recommending it is beyond us. The blue pill never looked so tasty.

Niobe and Ghost follow somewhat different paths through the game; each is an expert at different things and you'll have to play Enter the Matrix twice to enjoy everything. Enough of each course is similar that you will find yourself replaying a significant portion of it if you choose to go through the game a second time to see both stories. Niobe is the pilot/driver; some of the more thrilling levels in Enter the Matrix deal with piloting either land vehicles (in the Matrix itself) or your hovercraft, Logos. Ghost, who does get the opportunity to drive now and then, is really best when it comes to riding shotgun and providing support for Niobe. Outside the vehicle levels, both seem more or less equal to the tasks at hand.

The teen comedy centers on the youthful clones of five famous figures; these present-day versions, with one notable exception, embody some aspect of the originals' personalities. Kennedy (Miller) is a randy jock; Lincoln (Will Forte), a well-intentioned, somewhat oblivious straight shooter. School goth Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan) nurtures a crush on Lincoln -- who's smitten with the manipulative Cleopatra (Christa Miller-Lawrence). The one character who seems to bear no resemblance to his historical originator is Mohandas Gandhi (Michael McDonald), an eager but unsuccessful party dude. Principal Cinnamon J. Scudworth (Lord) rides herd on his unruly charges.
