Under this contract, Constellation Energy has successfully worked with a number of state clients, including Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), which was the first local or municipal government agency to sign a contract through the state's process. This business partnership has resulted in significant operational cost savings, the incorporation of renewable energy in the form of wind power and projected energy savings of more than $20 million over the term of the project.

http://www.gnep.energy.gov WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today welcomed the Republic of Korea’s decision to join the President’s Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) and sign the GNEP Statement of Principles. GNEP, a voluntary partnership, aims to safely and securely expand nuclear power worldwide while responsibly managing nuclear waste and reducing proliferation risks. Korea’s announcement brings the total number of GNEP partners to 19.

In August, Constellation Energy announced the completion of its first solar photovoltaic system in partnership with leading aluminum manufacturer Alcoa and DEERS, owner of the patent pending solar rooftop attachment design. The new system -- a 588,000-watt, roof-mounted photovoltaic solar power system -- recently began operation at the Alcoa Building and Construction Systems' Kawneer manufacturing facility in Visalia, Calif. Power is generated by more than 4,300 UNI-SOLAR(R) solar panels.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today the U.S. Department of Energy commended Canada's announcement that it will join the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP). This voluntary partnership seeks to expand the use of clean and affordable nuclear energy for peaceful purposes worldwide in a safe and secure manner through a closed nuclear fuel cycle that increases energy security, while promoting non-proliferation. Canada's announcement will bring the total number of GNEP partners to 18.
