Unlike other workplace campaigns, Empire Life does not individually canvass each employee to donate. The three-week campaign, which wrapped up on November 9, focuses on increasing awareness of United Way/Centraide, planning fun events and encouraging employees and retirees to make a donation or a commitment to donate through payroll deduction. The “Thrills and Chills” themed campaign in Kingston featured a Halloween dance and pumpkin carving contest, a Pick-up Pumpkin Hockey game for management, silent auction, BBQ, bake sale and a “Send a Boss to Work” auction where employees bid to send members of the Executive Leadership Team to work in other areas of the Company.
