Eminem's best man was Detroit rapper Proof. Kim's maid of honor was the couple's daughter, Hailie Jade, 10. Flower girls included her niece, Alaina, 12, and Kim's daughter from a previous relationship, Whitney, 2, who has been adopted by Eminem. Kim's mother was in attendance; Eminem's estranged mother was not.

Eminem has been in the headlines numerous times in recent months; first the rapper was rushed to the hospital over the holidays in late 2007 for complications stemming from pneumonia. His label confirmed his hospital stay but said in a statement that he was released quickly and recovering at his home.

Eminem began performing at age 14, performing raps in the basement of his high school friend’s home. At the age of 17 he actually made a name for himself as a rapper, becoming M& M (came from his initials M(arshall) M(athers)), which he would later respell as "Eminem".Then He found himself courted by several other rappers to start groups. Eminem first joined the New Jacks, and then moved on to Soul Intent, who released Eminem’s first recorded single in 1995. A rapper named Proof performed the B-side on the single and enjoyed working with Eminem so much that he asked him to start yet another group. Drafting in a few other friends, the group became known as D-12, a six-member crew that supported one another as solo artists more than they collaborated. After failing the 9th grade for three times in a row he quit school, but remarks that he doesn’t consider himself stupid and doesn’t advise that people should follow his example.

Barely three months after their second marriage, Eminem filed for divorce from Kim for the upteentg time, stating that a wedding doesn't solve underlying marital problems.
