Elton John is a musician /composer that had hits on the top 40 charts every year between 1970 and 1996. He is well known for his theatrical stage appearances with his elaborate costumes and flamboyant personality. Some of his big hits include "Rocket Man", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and "Donít Let the Sun Go Down on Me." However, his biggest hit song was "Candle in the Wind", which was originally written about Marilyn Monroe, but has become a mega hit since Elton performed it at the funeral of Princess Diana in 1997.

A shipment of fake video compact discs of Elton John's tribute to Princess Diana was seized by Australian customs. The discs were among a consignment of fake VCDs recorded in the Philippines by sound-alike artists. Other discs seized featured the songs of Madonna, Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.

Elton John and Tim Rice teamed up once again, this time they adapted the Verdi opera "Aida" into a musical stage production, complete with an accompanying pop/R&B soundtrack. The result was a multitiered musical journey that evoked a new level of artistic mastery for John. The soundtrack collection, "Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida," featured 14 songs recorded by a host of the industry's most revered and popular acts: LeAnn Rimes, Sting, James Taylor, Janet Jackson, Spice Girls, Boyz II Men, Shania Twain, Tina Turner, and Elton John himself. It's worldwide release was on March 23, 1999 on Rocket Records.

Elton John's music was met with much critical acclaim in addition to its colossal commercial success. He was the recipient of a Grammy award in 1991 for his instrumental composition "Basque" and again in 1997 for his special recording of "Candle in the Wind", which he rewrote in honor of Princess Diana after her death. In addition to his Grammy awards, John boasts induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was recognized for his charitable work when he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II on February 24, 1998.

John Gore, 45, was educated at Harrow School where he became the first pupil to ever direct a school production. He graduated in film and theater from London University in 1987 and knew he was destined for a life in the theater as his finals production of Joe Orton's What The Butler Saw transferred straight into London's West End. Mr. Gore's producing and/or directing credits on the West End include: Thunderbirds F.A.B. (produced first in 1989, it became the most revived show in the history of the West End in 2002 when it returned for the sixth time); Star Trek - the Lost Voyage of the Enterprise; and Wallace & Gromit, the highest grossing non-musical production in the West End. In 2005, John formed Key Brand Entertainment, an entertainment investment company to handle his shareholdings in all the Andrew Lloyd Webber catalog of shows including the original productions of Cats and The Phantom Of The Opera. Key Brand Inc. has a wide portfolio of investments including Sean Connery's production of Art, the London production of Wicked and the recent Webber-produced revival of The Sound Of Music.

Now only producing one album a year, John issued A Single Man in 1978, employing a new lyricist, Gary Osborne; the album featured no Top 20 singles. In 1979, accompanied by Ray Cooper, John became the first Western pop star to tour the Soviet Union (as well as one of the first in Israel), then mounted a two-man comeback tour of the U.S. in small halls. John returned to the singles chart with "Mama Can't Buy You Love" (number 9, 1979), a song from an EP recorded in 1977 with Philadelphia soul producer Thom Bell. A disco-influenced album, Victim of Love, was poorly received.
