A Winter Term course at Elon University School of Law aims to get to the heart of leadership and its importance to solving legal problems in the public law sector. The intensive two-week course will give second-year law students the chance to learn about leadership theory and apply it through work on real issues with real community partners, such as Self Help Credit Unionand Action Greensboro.

Founded in 1889 by the United Church of Christ, Elon University has grown into a private university that offers liberal arts and science courses, as well as a variety of professional programs. With over 45 majors to choose from, this North Carolina college is comprised of six smaller schools, each of which is dedicated to a distinct field or industry.

Elon University recently surveyed 1600 high school seniors and received 1100 responses. If the survey had been done via paper, it would have cost nearly $2000 to conduct. The cost would include an initiation fee, a return survey fee, and a raw data fee.

Elon has a student body of just over 4,900 undergraduate students and 517 graduate students. 46 states, the District of Columbia, and 45 nations are represented in the student body. Admitted freshmen have a SAT average of 1220 (critical reading and math) and an Academic GPA of 3.9. Elon sends more undergraduate students to study abroad than any other master's-level school in the nation, with 73% studying abroad. 80% of Elon students complete internships and 91% of recent graduates participated in volunteer service. Students can record their participation on an Elon Experiences transcript, which is issued as a companion to the traditional academic transcript.[1]

Teams from Elon University School of Law participated in two moot court competitions Feb. 7-9, representing Elon exceptionally well against elite law schools from across the country. An additional team from the law school will compete at Seton Hall University in late March.
