ELEC 2281 Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Laboratory (1) Introduction to basic meters, power supplies, and test equipment. Transient responses and AC power measurements. Operational amplifier circuits, bridge circuits, and transducers. Electrical Engineering majors may not use ELEC 2281 to fulfill degree requirements. Three laboratory hours per week. COREQUISITE: ELEC 2283.

Henricks has a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Bradley University. She earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and completed the Managing Engineering Design and Development Program at Carnegie Bosch Institute. Henricks serves on the Board of Managers of Cat Trimble Control Technologies and is on the Board of Directors of 10G, LLC. She is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and serves on the Board of Directors for St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing. Her appointment is effective December 1, 2007.

Some electrical engineers ... choose to pursue a postgraduate degree such as a Master of Engineering/Master of Science, a Master of Engineering Management, a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering or an Engineer's degree. The Master and Engineer's degree may consist of either research, coursework or a mixture of the two. The Doctor of Philosophy consists of a significant research component and is often viewed as the entry point to academia. In the United Kingdom and various other European countries, the Master of Engineering is often considered an undergraduate degree of slightly longer duration than the Bachelor of Engineering.[17]

Most colleges require students planning on majoring in electrical engineering to have taken an adequate number of math, science, and English courses in high school. In fact, program administrators often require students to take placement exams in these subjects. Students that score low on these exams must attend basic math and science courses during their first year, sometimes extending the degree program beyond four years.

A resident of Ladue, MO, Galvin earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master's degree in business administration from Cornell University. He served four years in the United States Navy as a lieutenant, ending his military career as an operations officer. Galvin currently serves on the board of directors of F.M. Global Insurance Company and as an advisory director for the McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
