Eddie Izzard was born February 7th 1962 in Aden, Yemen, where his father was an accountant at the BP oil refinery. His mum was a midwife who died when Eddie was a boy. The Izzard is a Pyreneean mountain goat. At 15 he was arrested for stealing make-up and was later thrown out of Sheffield University, where he was studying to be an accountant. His own brand of "talking bollocks with more bollocks on top" was honed first as a sketch comedian at the Edinburgh Festival, a street performer in Covent Garden and at the London Comedy Clubs. Made his film debut in 1996 in The Secret Agent.
