Barry From Eastenders was a mythical creature dating from around 917 AD. Rumour has it, It is still alive this very day, and can often be seen in Pantomimes, or Jobcentres up and down the country. It is rare to spot Barry From Eastenders, as it is scared easily.

Eastenders is beating TV rival Coronation Street in the UK's first mobile ring war. The Link, the UK's leading mobile communications retailer, recently launched the theme tunes for the two soaps as mobile phone ringtones. Since the launch, The Link has seen an unprecedented interest in the rings from mobile users across the UK with Eastenders outselling Coronation Street by two to one.

Eastenders jumped the shark on 11 September 2006. In this episode Billy Mitchell is frantically trying to get home to his wife, Honey, who has done a bunk from the hospital after finding out their new born baby "it" has downs syndrome. The entire show focusses on Billy, where he is trapped in a tube train on the London Underground when kids are messing about on a train in front of the one he is on. The extras completely hammed up and over acted being silent passengers on a tube train while Billy gradually became more and more irritating. Eventually, a fellow passenger yells at him "Don't you know what day it is!!!??" and holds up a copy of the Evening Standard which shows "9/11 5 years on" Suddenly, Billy's troubles melt away and he notes that his problems are nothing in comparison to the anniversary of 9/11. It must go down as one of THE worst episodes ever, Billy's character isn't even that great or integral to the overall plots and stories of EE.

The current 'Eastenders' plot has seen Honey and Billy be so excited about the birth of their baby girl, followed by their devastation at finding out she has Down's Syndrome and a heart problem. They are going through a range of emotions that most new parents have felt at some time. The Eastenders script writers have consulted various groups including DHG in order to get the facts as accurate as possible but we must all bear in mind Eastenders is a soap opera and as such requires drama, doom, gloom and elation to keep its viewers. Many new parents have worse experiences than those portrayed in Eastenders and thankfully other new parents have better experiences, treatment and access to information than seen in the show.

Eastenders ... become known for the return of characters after they have left the show. Sharon Rickman has so far completed six separate stints on the programme (a record), as did Frank Butcher, and writers stunned viewers by bringing back Den Watts, fourteen years after he had seemingly died. Since then Watt’s off screen exploits became as notorious as those on screen.

Eastenders’ tracks will probably never be recognized within those diverse “electronic scenes” but somewhere in between and beyond instead. This music walks on so many paths – way to many for only one single direction only. somewhere “Along The Path”.
