Dynasty Warriors

On consoles, Dynasty Warriors games are massive things, each with gigantic fields to battle on, filled with hundreds, nay, thousands of characters floating around the level at any one time. This requires a lot of loading and streaming, and well, the PSP right now ain't very good at dealing with such things. And due to being portable, there's a need for a quick fix, instead of wasting 20 minutes fighting enemies while fighitng your battery life or finishing the level off before the train arrives at your destination. Thankfully, Koei took this in mind, and made Dynasty Warriors perfect for portable play. Instead of one huge field, DW uses a grid-like system, and you travel from area to area through this grid. The grid displays all the different kinds of areas; open fields, camps, supply depots, etc.
Fans of the genre (and make no mistake, Dynasty Warriors is its own genre) are familiar with the usual conventions - you memorize a set of combos, combining normal and charge attacks. While every character has their own weapons and style, you know that every character will have a stun attack, every character a crowd clearing attack, and every character a single target combo attack. In DW6, the only thing that’s remained similar is that each character still has both normal and charge attacks. The way they work... is entirely different - now, your normal attack button unleashes a constant stream of attacks, slowly growing in power as you rack up hits without being damaged in return. Koei calls this the ‘renbu’ system, and it’s at the heart of what makes this edition so different from any other game in the series.

Both Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 5 have individual Musou Modes for each character. Dynasty Warriors 4 has a single, but much longer, Musou Mode for an entire Kingdom. For example, all characters aligned with Wu play through Wu's Musou Mode. This allows the player to switch characters with another general from the same kingdom as they play through the story if they wish.
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam is a video game based on the extremely popular Gundam anime series. It was developed by Koei and published by Namco Bandai. Its gameplay is derived from Koei's popular Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series. The "Official Mode" of the game is based primarily on the Universal Century timeline, with mecha from Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ appearing in released images of the game. The "Original Mode" of the game ... features mecha from the non-UC series Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. A newly designed non-SD Musha Gundam designed by Hajime Katoki is also included.
Based on the epic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the genre-defining Dynasty Warriors series depicts the massive battles ignited by the fall of the Han Dynasty, when three rebellious states moved to overthrow the Emperor of China. Featuring a new proprietary combat engine, Dynasty Warriors 6 delivers the exhilaration of single-handedly destroying thousands of soldiers on massive fields of combat. The lightning-fast kung-fu fighting, fluid motion-captured animation, intuitive combat system and immersive environments create an unparalleled gaming experience, and push the limits of Tactical Action.
