The Duke of Marlborough Hotel holds the first hotel licence in New Zealand. History and Romance meet in the most spectacular setting in the awesome Bay of Islands. Right on the waterfront, it offers the discerning traveller 6 luxury suites with Bay views as well as 20 beautifully appointed rooms overlooking Russell. Regarded for the high quality of its dining, the hotel boasts two restaurants and one bar to accommodate all budgets. The Duke has been extensively refurbished in 2003. The hotel does not accept amex or diners.

The Duke of Marlborough Hotel The Duke of Marlborough Hotel is situated on the waterfront in the historical town of Russell, in New Zealand?s picturesque Bay of Islands. Colonial in style, the hotel features two verandahs and a pergola (arbor) with an electric roof. One of the original buildings dates to the late 1930s and was a women?s accommodation block that was brought over from Cable Bay.
