Residential alcohol and drug abuse treatment (aka inpatient) is where the individual resides full time in a facility. A person needs to learn the facts about alcohol and drug abuse dependency and how to work a program of recovery. Therapy generally consists of both group and one on one counseling sessions. The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Program offers a partial hospital and acute, residential program, with 24-hour a day staffing, for adults in North Central Massachusetts, in the town of Ashburnham. In-depth individual assessment, personalized and comprehensive treatment, group therapy, case management and ongoing support and education are included in the program.
The Drug Abuse Treatment for Adolescents (DATA) project is designed to make effective treatment for adolescent substance abuse available in community treatment settings. DATA is designed to be part of SAMHSA's Effective Adolescent Treatment initiative. In DATA, 110 cannabis or alcohol abusing adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17, and 44 similar youths ages 18 to 21, will receive a brief outpatient intervention that has been demonstrated to be an efficacious intervention for cannabis abusers.
