Carey could be seen in the sitcom “The Good Life” (1994), a 1997 episode of “Dharma & Greg,” the TV comedy Freaky Friday (1995) and the animation film Robots (2005). He authored the autobiography “Dirty Jokes and Beer: Stories of the Unrefined” (1997).
Last summer, Carey got the news that he'd landed the gig of a lifetime. After 35 years and over 6,500 episodes, Bob Barker announced that he'd be retiring from his plum position as host of TV's longest-running game show, "The Price is Right." Desperate to replace a TV icon, "Price is Right" producers batted around a number of celebrity names, including Rosie O'Donnell and Mario Lopez, before finally tapping Carey to "come on down!" and host.

On May 7, 2000, Carey's made-for-TV film Geppetto debuted for an ABC presentation of the Wonderful World of Disney. The film was an adaptation of Pinocchio, and included actor Wayne Brady who had joined Carey on Whose Line is it Anyway? and a few episodes of The Drew Carey Show.[25] Carey took singing lessons to prepare for the role.[3]
[H]eart attack could well be the wrong word for Carey's complaints — as it was for Cheney's episode. In Cheney's case, "for a while the electrocardiogram looked a little funny, " explains Katz, "as did his heart enzymes. As a result, words came out that it was a 'micro' heart attack."
