MGM has announced that it has signed a deal with Hyde Park Entertainment to create direct-to-DVD movies, with the first project to be a remake of the 1980 Brian De Palma classic DRESSED TO KILL. Rick Alexander will script the update of De Palma’s film, in which the murder of an adulterous woman (Angie Dickinson) is witnessed by a prostitute (Nancy Allen), who teams with the woman’s son (Keith Gordon) to solve the crime. Meanwhile, she’s stalked by the murderer, who appears to be a female patient of the victim’s psychiatrist (Michael Caine).

All dressed up with no script to go, but a feverish nerve jangler nonetheless. Kate (Dickinson) is a sexually dissatisfied middle-aged housewife who fantasizes about erotic encounters while in the shower. Kate's sympathetic psychiatrist (Caine) advises her to indulge in an extra-marital affair. Immediately after her first tryst... Kate is cornered in an elevator and murdered by a leather-clad blonde wielding a straight razor. Now it is up to Kate's son (Gordon) to solve the murder with the help of the prostitute (Allen) who discovered his mom's corpse. Although heavily indebted to Alfred Hitchcock, Mario Bava, and Dario Argento, De Palma infused this film with enough sex, blood, and visual panache to make it a big hit at the box office.

Angie Dickenson isn't the one that's dressed to kill -- she's dressed to get killed. When she gets butchered by a razor-wielding mystery woman in an elevator, it's up to a cop (Dennis Franz) and her shrink (Michael Caine) to figure out who offed the nymphomaniacal Angie. Oh, and Angie's son teams up with the hooker who witnessed the murder to do an investigation of their own.
