Dragons: Water
built 785 days ago
Australia is home to a number of dragons, a name given to many of their agamid lizards which include the popular bearded dragons and water dragons. Australia has very restrictive export laws relating to its wildlife; ... the bearded dragons found in the U.S. pet trade are descendants from founder animals imported from Europe. Bearded dragons are gaining popularity as pets. Wonderfully tempered, intriguing in appearance, quizzical in countenance, these lizards do not get very large (especially in relation to the green iguana), and require little in the nature of active training or taming to make them calm and handleable. As with all reptiles, there are important things to know before buying a bearded, and to keep them healthy and long-lived.

In Daoist concepts the moon, pearls, dragons and serpents are inextricably linked. Like the snake that is reborn when it sheds its skin, the moon is reborn each month, and both are symbols of immortality. Like the dragon, the moon is always associated with water; its undeniable power over the tides is believed to extend to all liquids on earth. The dragons that lived in the sea were said to be inordinately fond of pearls and collected them and watched over them in great submarine palaces.
Many other cultures have legends of dragons. For example, the Sumerians spoke of Tiamat, which was a huge female dragon with two legs and horns. Native American Seneca myth tells of Gaasyendietha, a dragon that lives in the water but can shoot fire.

A Natural History of Dragons and Unicorns - interesting book All the innocent dragons are killed as well. His soul gets inserted into the form which he hates most; HUMAN. Griffin pledges in and becomes the King's Chief Advisor. He gives the king a tonic which makes him stupid so that Griffin can rule the land. Griffin is later killed in his dragon form (he got to his dragon form by having the princess of the Dynasty throw it into the fire, and he kicked it into the water and retrieved it) by Drake using ice to shatter him. Water dragons can be kept together, with one to three males in a room-sized enclosure. Some females can be domineering and may not want any other females around...others can co-habit with 3-4 females. You must monitor them all the time to assure all are feeding and basking properly throughout the year. If any aren't, you are most likely seeing the results of intimidation and will need to increase the number of basking and feeding areas and/or increase enclosure size or separate them.

There are nine major types of Chinese dragons. These include the horned dragon, the winged dragon, the celestial dragon (which supports and protects the mansions of the gods), the spiritual dragon which generates wind and rain for the benefit of mankind), the dragon of hidden treasures (which keeps guard over concealed wealth), the coiling dragon (which lives in water), and the yellow dragon (which once emerged from water and presented the legendary Emperor Fu Shi with the elements of writing)
