During the first Flying lesson, Draco steals Neville Longbottom's Remembrall, but Harry manages to retrieve it, and therefore is put on the Quidditch team. Draco challenges Harry to a wizard's duel in the night, but doesn't show up.

Draco and Ginny are both forced to spend the day together after showing up at an extra credit transfiguration class. As they disrupt the younger pupils, McGonagall is forced to separate them and puts them in a class together alone. Will they be able to avoid killing each other? Will they have a civilised conversation?

Harry spends much of the year attempting to discover Draco's whereabouts, but loses track of him once Draco enters the Room of Requirement. When Katie Bell is nearly killed in Hogsmeade after handling a cursed necklace and Ron is nearly poisoned by tainted mead, Harry suspects Draco is behind both attacks.

Draco laughed and Harry felt a momentary surge of anger at the sound. Was Draco mocking him? Mocking the guilt he'd carried around all these years because of Draco's final act of desperation?

Draco shut up and focused on fighting free, and managed a few good kicks before Ludmilla recaptured his feet. This was the worst Draco had ever been, and that was saying something. The servants were far too used to Draco's tantrums to recognize real panic.

Draco nodded. Then suddenly he smiled, a very pretty and genuine smile that made Harry's heart skip a beat, then a few more. Draco took a step closer and kissed Harry on the lips again, one hand holding the Firebolt and the other turning Harry's face towards his own.
