This is truly the best Draco story written. The authoress carefully untangles a web, explaining Draco's actions, words, and positions. She gives him a background, developing his relationship with his overtly demanding father and distantly coarse mother beautifully. Draco finds himself in the midst of trouble when he begins to slowly form his own ideas of life, all quite distant from those of his father. He finds himself lying to protect Hermione Granger and Harry Potter, and to protect a sickening secret he finds deep within Gringotts. A secret so dark and covered that it could kill him in the blink of an eye . . .

Mutely, the nanny seized Draco out of the chair, acting quickly before Draco could put up a good fight. She carried the squealing, squirming child out of the dining room, as the little boy struggled for a better angle. He knew he couldn't kick his father, but the servants were fair game. Unfortunately, they knew it too, and Ludmilla had grabbed and neutralized his feet. He arched away, flailing his tiny elbows and arms with a blood-curdling shriek. His father hated noise, too.

Draco discusses his Father and Hagrid being at Buckbeak's trial. Harry, hidden by the Invisibility Cloak, throws mud at him. Draco sees Harry's disembodied head, yells in fright and runs away. He tells Snape what he saw.

In the epilogue, Draco is married and the father of a young son, Scorpius. Draco's hairline has receded, making his face look even more pointed. Though they are still not friends, he gives a brief, curt nod to Harry while both are seeing their own children off to school at King's Cross.[8]

Draco struggled back inside, leapt from the sill and pelted for the door before it could change its mind. He ran full out, feet quick and light, down the long hallways, past the portraits, for the drawing room where his father was most likely to be. Even now he was abnormally quiet.

Harry doesn't want Malfoy to see him covered in soot and with broken glasses. Draco and his father enter the shop, Draco asks for a present. Draco complains about Harry having a Nimbus 2000 and being famous. His father says he has told him this at least a dozen times and that it isn't a good idea to be seen not to like Harry Potter. They discuss Draco's grades, he was beaten by Hermione in every subject.
