  1. Dr Dre
Dr Dre, born as AndrĂ© Romell Young on February 18, 1965 in Los Angeles, California, is an influential Grammy Award-winning American record producer, hip hop producer, rapper, actor and record executive. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment, a former co-owner and artist of Death Row Records, which makes him a significant figure in the development of rap music. He was a founding member of the influential rap group NWA, which popularized the use of explicit lyrics in rap detailing the violence of street life (... known as Gangsta rap), and he also produced albums for and overseen the careers of some of the biggest stars in rap music, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game, Nate Dogg, Rakim, Busta Rhymes, and Eve. With tens of millions of records he has produced sold worldwide (including over 70 million with Eminem alone), he is widely regarded as one of the most popular figures in rap music history, and as a producer he is credited as a key figure in the creation and popularization of West Coast G-funk, a style of rap music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow, heavy beats. G-funk dominated the US rap charts in the period of 1992–1996, and is still considered one of the major living styles of hip hop today, and in 2004, Dr Dre was ranked as number 54 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
  2. Dr Dre -- Monster Cable
Dr. Dre, the Chronic King, is making his first foray into consumer electronics, releasing a pair of headphones with none other than Monster. The $400 headphones will indeed feature "rich deep bass—a Dr. Dre trademark." Here's what the Doctor himself has to say:
  3. Dr Dre -- Albums
More than any other rapper, Dr. Dre was responsible for moving away from the avant-noise and political stance of Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions, as well as the party vibes of old school rap. Instead, Dre pioneered gangsta rap and his own variation of the sound, G-Funk. BDP's early albums were hardcore but cautionary tales of the criminal mind, but Dre's records with NWA celebrated the hedonistic, amoralistic side of gang life. Dre was never much of a rapper -- his rhymes were simple and his delivery was slow and clumsy -- but as a producer, he was extraordinary. With NWA he melded the noise collages of the Bomb Squad with funky rhythms. On his own, he reworked George Clinton's elastic funk into the self-styled G-Funk, a slow-rolling variation that relied more on sound than content.
  4. Dr Dre -- Snoop Dogg
Dre started his career with the rap-group NWA (Dr.Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy E, DJ Yella, MC Ren) back in 1987. After leaving NWA, Dre and Suge Knight founded "Deathrow Records", the most successful HipHop Labels of the early nineties. Dre produced songs for 2Pac and Snoop Dogg and became one of the most famous Rap producers ever. In the late nineties, Dr. Dre founded his own label "Aftermath Records". Aftermath Records holds some of today's hottest artists like Eminem, 50 Cent and Obie Trice. Dr. Dre has ... released 3 solo albums within his career.

  6. Dr Dre -- Artists
Dr.Dre is not only the most influential producer in hip-hop, he is probably the reason that hip-hop will have to redefine what it means to be a producer. Today, everyone thinks that hip-hop means "beat-maker". But many Producers of music are not beat-makers. Instead they are the brains behind those who make the music and develop the lyrics. This is Dre...and he's a beatmaker. Every artist who has worked with Dre seems to testify that Dre does much more than bring in tracks and records with them.
  7. Xzibit -- Dr Dre
What's so impressive about Xzibit is his rhyme flow, which is one of the smoothest in rap and provides a wonderful contrast to his profanity-led ghetto dwelling lyrics. With Dr Dre providing beats for three of the tracks and overseeing the whole project, Xzibit now has the perfect musical canvas to accompany his underrated skills.
  8. Dr Dre -- Death Row Records
One of the founding fathers of gangsta rap, the G-funk style, Death Row Records, and Aftermath, Dr. Dre has been bringing innovation and slick production to the world of rap since the early days of N.W.A. in the late '80s. As with many restless souls in the music industry, it was only a matter of time before Dre decided to expand his role in the entertainment industry to feature films. See Full Dr. Dre Biography
  9. Dre
Before his untimely death in 2004, Mac Dre had been a pillar of Bay Area hip-hop for over a decade. Whereas most rappers in the gangsta rap arena bank upon humorless braggadocio and empty threats, Mac Dre took a looser, more humorous approach to the genre. By exposing his lighter side, Mac Dre presented a more realistic and three-dimensional persona that endeared him to at least two generations of Bay Area hip-hop fans. Born Andre Hicks in 1970, the Vallejo-based emcee began recording in the late 1980s. His first few albums, beginning with his 1989 debut, the Young Black Brotha EP, were competent, if generic gangsta rap. He ran into a roadblock, both literally and figuratively, when he was arrested in 1991 for conspiracy to commit bank robbery.
  10. Dre -- Songs
Besides slamming Napster, Dr. Dre ... appeared in a related story by demanding that Musicmaker.com immediately remove any of his songs from their website. Musicmaker is a custom-compilation and download site, and it had recently announced a licensing deal with Dr. Dre's former label, Death Row Records. The Musicmaker website listed 27 of Dr. Dre's songs for use in custom compilations.
