One of the founding fathers of gangsta rap, the G-funk style, Death Row Records, and Aftermath, Dr. Dre has been bringing innovation and slick production to the world of rap since the early days of N.W.A. in the late '80s. When Dr. Dre shocked the world by leaving Death Row Records in 1995, he did so at the price of leaving the copyrights to his music behind. Dre would still receive royalties but ownership went to one Suge Knight. According to Dre, no royalties have been paid since the agreement and he is suing the bankrupt Death Row Records to recover ownership.

Forgotten man Dr. Dre just wants what's coming to him. Especially because what's coming to him might be thousands (millions? zillionz?) of dollars from the bankrupt Death Row Records, who haven't coughed up royalties from The Chronic in some time. [Billboard]
