The Down East Tattoo show is a gathering of American Tattoo artists, and people they have tattooed showing off the work of their artists. This gives people the opportunity to be tattooed by artists that they can not travel to. It ... gives tattooed people the opportunity to get together to show off their tattoos to other people, and if they choose enter their work into competition. If they win they are able to help give recognition to their hard work and talent.

Antiquing in Down East Maine is as rewarding as the beautiful scenery the route provides. The roads here wind along fingers of land that have become legendary for the spectacular coves, inlets and beaches nestled along their shores.

The Down East region of Maine, including Acadia and the town of Bar Harbor, extends from Penobscot Bay to New Brunswick, Canada. The picture postcard images of coastal Maine beauty are alive and vibrant here: rocky coastlines, lighthouses on distant promontories, marinas packed with fishing boats. For outdoor beauty, the jewel of the region is Acadia National Park, which is located mostly on islands, primarily Mount Desert Island. Visitors come to Acadia to hike its granite peaks, to bicycle along historic carriage roads built for wealthy Victorians, and to enjoy the magnificent scenery. Major attractions of Acadia National Park are Cadillac Mountain, the tallest mountain on the East Coast and the first spot in the United States to see the sun rise; the 27-mile Park Loop Road system with outstanding views of ocean shoreline, coastal forests, and mountain silhouettes; and the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse. Other natural beauties of the region include Cobscook and Passamaquoddy bays.

Easily read in an evening or two, Down East deserves to become part of every sailor or would be sailors library. Clearly written and lacking the pretension found in some Maine resorts, its a book for everyone who loves the sea.
