Alex Trebek was the host, with Johnny Olson and later Gene Wood announcing. The show was created by Jay Wolpert. Double Dare was Alex Trebek's only CBS game show, with all others originally airing either on NBC, in syndication or in Canada (he ... only hosted one show for ABC, the Super Jeopardy! special tournament in 1990).
  2. Double Jeopardy
A thriller/mystery, Double Jeopardy is a textbook example of a well-structured screenplay: sharp writing, drama and a seamless script phenomenally acted by Tommy Lee Jones, Ashley Judd and Bruce Greenwood. When lithe and spunky Libby Parsons (Judd) is framed for the murder of her husband Nick (Greenwood), she spends the next seven years in prison, realizing that her idyllic marriage was a sham and contemplating her revenge. Upon her release, she braves an emotional wallop, outraces police cars up dark and rainy New Orleans streets and wreaks havoc on her parole officer, Travis Lehman (Jones). You'll be rooting for her every step of the way. If only there were more clever films like this.
  3. Double Dragon
Double Dragon is a 1994 live-action film adaptation of the video game franchise of the same name. This film was produced starring Mark Dacascos as Jimmy Lee and Scott Wolf as Billy Lee, along with Alyssa Milano as Marian Delario and Robert Patrick as Koga Shuko, the primary antagonist. In the movie, the twins are only described as brothers, presumably to explain the differences in ethnicity. To clarify, the movie, Jimmy is a year older than Billy, whereas in the video games and the two brothers were twins (with Jimmy being the elder twin). It was directed by James Yukich and written by the team of Paul Dini (of Batman: The Animated Series and others) and Neal Shusterman. The location was a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles (following a large earthquake that occurred before the events of the film), referred to as "New Angeles".

  5. Double Dare -- Family Double Dare
Family Double Dare ended its Fox run in July 1988 after 13 episodes. Nickelodeon resumed production in 1990, and finally canceled it in 1992. Producers taped some new episodes after the cancellation. Summers himself has said about the show, "We could do reruns forever."
  6. Double Jeopardy -- Prosecution
Double jeopardy only applies to a single set of facts (a single incident). Just as it would be two separate offenses (and two separate permissible prosecutions) to steal from someone on two separate occasions, so it would be two separate offenses to murder someone twice [1]. Moreover, a parole board can revoke parole based on new information without violating double jeopardy, since parole is not a constitutional right.
  7. Double Dare -- Jeannie Epper
As far as "human interest" documentaries go, Double Dare is an absolute winner. Not all docos have to be about dead painters or the Holocaust, and it's refreshing to see a factual flick that peers behind the Hollywood backstages and brings some attention to two distinct characters like Jeannie Epper and Zoe Bell.
  8. Double Dare -- Reading
Action-packed, entertaining and fun, Double Dare is a delightfully romantic tale. Elaine Hopper, author of several e-books, has a genuine knack for the romance genre. Watch for her to make an impressive mark in the new e-book market as an up-and-coming author.
  9. Double Jeopardy -- Cases
Have you discovered yet that the free download of Stu’s Double Jeopardy includes a multimedia quiz game that uses an MP3 file for every question? The MP3 Song Lyrics Quiz lets you play a special type of Jeopardy game, in this case one that wants you to name the Title and Artist from a displayed lyrics snippet. But if you can’t get the song from the lyrics alone, Jeopardy can play that snippet for you!
  10. Double Jeopardy -- Defendants
Double jeopardy ... does not attach if the later charge is civil rather than criminal in nature, which involves a different legal standard. Acquittal in a criminal case does not prevent the defendant from being the defendant in a civil suit relating to the same incident (though res judicata operates within the civil court system). For example, O.J. Simpson was acquitted of a double homicide in a California criminal prosecution, but lost a civil wrongful death claim brought over the same victims.
