Double Dare consists of a pair of sisters, Aliki & Margot Marceau (the short-haired Margot is the elder sister by four years and therefore the more commanding). They are thieves who are ... the star acrobatic performers of the travelling Cirque Sensationnel, using their acrobatic skills to commit their crimes. Although they primarily work out of Paris, they seem to be infatuated with Nightwing and bothered him occasionally in Blüdhaven after incurring the wrath of the city's crimelord Blockbuster with their thievery.

Double Dare replaced the popular game show Gambit on CBS' daytime lineup at 11 a.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Central. Facing NBC's strong Wheel of Fortune, it did not draw the audience Gambit had. After a move to 10 a.m. Eastern (where it went up against Sanford and Son reruns on NBC), CBS canceled Double Dare and replaced it with reruns of Here's Lucy.

Bell is the heart and soul of Double Dare. She gives an outsider's glimpse into the stunt world of Hollywood, and clearly loves the work she does. Bell has a bubbly, infectious personality that literally has her bouncing off the walls. Micheli films some of her auditions, and even when Bell falls, she is still laughing and smiling. At the same time, Micheli shows a very vulnerable side to Bell, very disappointed when she doesn't land her first job. In effect, she humanizes Bell, and anybody watching who cannot identify or sympathize with her surely has a no emotion at all.
