The Donizetti monoblock power amplifier is born with those characteristics that have become synonymous of Audio Analogue and of its "Great Composers" line: style, quality and that transparency, musicality and sonic purity typically High-End with a remarkable value for money. Very appreciated in its previous stereo configuration, the Donizetti renews its great success thanks to better performances and more versatility. The Donizetti is manufactured following criteria that usually belong to higher quality and more expensive devices. The supply is oversized from the 350VA toroidal transformer up to the very fast and high capacity filter capacitors. The discrete devices only amplifier circuit features FETs on the input and wideband transistors all over the voltage gain stages to minimize SID (slew induced distortion). The large bandwidth and the reduced open loop gain have made it possible to eliminate every compensation, mandatory in high gain designs but harmful for sound.
Gaetano Donizetti Donizetti’s first operas were performed in Venice. A rich lady who realized he was very talented paid so that he did not have to do military service. His opera Zoraida di Granata was very successful in Rome and he was given a contract for an opera for Naples. For several years he composed between two and five operas every year. They were not particularly successful. One of the reasons was that the libretti he was given (the words he had to set) were not very good.
Famed soprano Anna Moffo stars in the title role as Donizetti's doomed heroine. This opera was filmed on location in Italy and features the Symphony Orchestra of Rome Radio Italiana. 108 min. Standard; Soundtrack: Italian Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English. In Italian with English subtitles.
Don Pasquale premièred on January 3, 1843, with Donizetti conducting the first performance. It was an instant success and was soon produced all over Europe and the Western Hemisphere. The first United States performance took place in New Orleans in 1845.
