Dominic Monaghan is an English actor who plays the role of Charlie Pace. Outside of Lost, he is well-known for playing the hobbit Merry in the film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.

The third season of Lost already aired its final episode, in which rocker Charlie Pace, played by Dominic Monaghan, has been killed off. And with his departure, the 30-year old actor has expressed his sentiments on the award-winning show the catapulted him to stardom.

Thanks to his role in The Lord of the Rings, Dominic Monaghan was chosen to play the role of Charlie in the cult tv series of Lost. His character, Chalie was killed of in the finale after spending three seasons on the show, Monaghan left, stating in a TV Guide interview that he was ready for a change and that he was disappointed by his character's diminishing role in the second and third seasons.

Dominic has a tattoo on his right arm of the Elvish word for "nine". [1] It means that his character was one of the nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring in The Lord of the Rings. Many other cast members ... got similar tattoos during the making of the movie. On his left arm is a tattoo that says "Living is easy with eyes closed", a line from The Beatles' song "Strawberry Fields Forever". On Lost, Charlie's tape/bandage finger-rings with letters spelling out words were Monaghan's idea. He thought that because Charlie is an artist, he would still want to be creative even when trapped on an island. Monaghan also actually plays the guitar on Lost.
