For 2008, the Dodge Viper SRT will use an 8.4-liter aluminum V-10 engine that produces a full 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque. 0-60 times are under four seconds, 0-100-0 in under 12 seconds, and braking 60-0 comes in less than 100 feet.

In 1902, the Dodge Brothers were approached by Henry Ford, who was looking for help in financing his own automobile company. They helped finance the start of the Ford Motor Company as well as manufacturing parts for early Fords, to Ford's and the Dodge Brothers' mutual financial benefit. Through 1913, nearly all Ford running gear (chassis, suspension, brakes, engines, transmissions, etc.) were built by Dodge.

As before, Dodge's pickups could be had in a variety of cab and bed configurations. Standard cab, extended cab (called Club Cab) and four-door Crew Cab styles offered various passenger-toting ability with wheelbases that ranged from 115 inches (for a standard cab with a 6.5-foot bed) to 165 inches (for a Crew Cab with an 8-foot bed). Bed styles consisted of the nostalgic Utiline (that featured separate rear fender pods and a narrow bed) and the more modern and smooth-sided Sweptline models.

The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 V-10’s two-piece intake manifold combines a cast aluminum lower with smooth runners for better air flow, bolted to a die-cast aluminum upper plenum. A revised air-cleaner box with a low-restriction filter sends air through a dual electronic throttle control into the intake module.
