1. New Years -- Gregorian Calendar
   The Gujarati New Year is usually celebrated the day after the festival of Diwali (which occurs in mid-fall - either October or November, depending on the Lunar calendar). The Gujarati New Year is synonymous with sud ekam of the Kartik month - the first day of the first month of Gujarati lunar calendar. Most other Hindus celebrate the New Year in early spring, but the Gujarati farming community celebrates the New Year after Diwali to mark the beginning of a new fiscal year.

   In Gujarat, in western India, New Year is celebrated at the end of October, and it is celebrated at the same time as the Indian festival of Diwali. At the time of Diwali, small oil lights are lit all along the roofs of buildings.

   Bollywood stars, bureaucrats and flightloads of gleeful fans are all converging here to watch India take their next step towards challenging the Australians for the title, but it is strictly business time for the team. 4. Lucknow -- Cultures
   The best season to visit Lucknow is October to March. The weather is pleasant and going round the sights is much easier. Lucknow hosts the National Kite flying competition a day after diwali (Hindu festival of lights) in October – November. Between 25th November and 5th December is a ten-day cultural festival. Reliving the heady days of Awadh, this festival showcases several events including classical music, dance, plays, boating and ekka (one-horse carriage) races.
5. Jain Dharma -- Life
   The Jain marriage custom is governed by the traditional practices which of course vary from community to community. Some rituals are of course common to all Jain marriage. For the Jains, marriage means a public declaration of a man and a woman's intention to be together for the entire life. The community gives support to the couple by being a part of it. The Jain community assemblies on various occasions have condemned the practice of negotiating a dowry before marriage. Jains believe that there should be no waste of money or time. Nevertheless, marriage is an once-in-lifetime occasion that has to be celebrated properly and grandly.
6. Sikh -- Sikh Gurus
   At only five years of age, the eighth Sikh Guru was the youngest. He worked to alleviate the suffering of the common man during a smallpox epidemic in Delhi, but succumbed to the disease himself at the age of eight.

   It was on the shooting of ” Black” that Sanjay gifted Sonam Kapoor the script of “Saawariya” . This carried Sonam entirely by storm as she did not believe she would equip the character of the heroine as she was overweight. Sonam weighed 90 kgs more or less when she was nailed down as the heroine of “Saawariya”. She attained all those redundant pounds when studying overseas. Sonam is cognised to have a vast appetency. But once she came to know that she was going to make her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ” Saawariya” she determined to cast off her superfluous fat. Sonam along with her mummy Sunita Kapoor, who is a fitness junkie, brought toward a exclusive destination, to dump all those pounds and to acquire a modulated body.She exercised hard and lost almost 30 kilograms for her role in movie Saawariya.
10. Deepika Padukone -- Om Shanti Om
    Deepika Padukone, who made a spectacular debut in 2007 with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Om Shanti Om', is fast becoming a favorite amongst Bollywood filmmakers. She entered the industry alongside other talented newcomers like Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor but has managed to eclipse them.
