As of now, Divx movies can only be purchased at Circuit City stores and a few other retailers, most of which don't stay open very late at night. If a Divx customer wants to rent anything after 8 p.m., he/she will likely wind up at their local video store anyway. And don't wait for local video stores to start selling Divx discs, because that will never happen.

DivX Doctor II requires a relatively large amount of disk space to perform its operations. The disk space is allocated in your Temporary Items folder, which is normally on the same disk as your System Folder. Ensure that you have enough space. DivX Doctor normally requires two times the size of the Doctored movie to work correctly. If you are decompressing audio then it could require a LOT more space than you might think, for example, one hour of uncompressed audio is about 605MB.

SAN DIEGO, October 30, 2006- DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ: DIVX) today announced results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2006. In the third quarter of 2006, consolidated revenue was $15.4 million, an increase of 83 percent from the third quarter of 2005. Net income in the third quarter of 2006 was $3.1 million, or $0.10 per diluted share, compared to net income of $763,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2005. Stock-based compensation charges for the third quarter totaled $526,000 compared to $58,000 for the same quarter a year ago.

One of the big gripes everyone has about using an Xbox 360 as an extender for Windows Media Center edition is lack of DivX support. If you can't live without your DivX movies, one solution is to convert them to WMV, which makes them available as part of your compatible media library. Another solution is to use the Brains N Brawn hack to convert DivX files on the fly and stream them to your Xbox 360 using Media Center Extender.
