Main Street, U.S.A. -- Just inside Disneyland's entrance gates is this re-creation of the main street of a small town in the early 20th century. There's City Hall, [T]he Cinema, turn-of-the-century vehicles, and a variety of small shops.

Inside the main theater guests will enjoy a newly produced film retrospective highlighting the first five decades of Disneyland. The humorous film, co-hosted by Donald Duck and Martin (resulting in a tug of war over who's best qualified to host the story), features a score by Academy Award®-nominated composer John Debney. The film will take guests on a journey through the many memorable moments that have made Disneyland a national treasure.

To view the fireworks show, a technological marvel of lights, sound and sky blasts, follow Main Street, your entry point into Disneyland to Sleeping Beauty Castle. The moat to the castle is blocked off during the show so you may want to plant yourself as close to that location as possible. Crowds begin to form half an hour before the show begins and if it rains, the show is often cancelled.

The Submarines cost Disneyland $80,000 each to build, but that was in the 1950’s. In 2006 dollars that would be almost a half a million dollars! Not to mention that it takes nine million gallons of water to fill up the Lagoon that houses the ride, and the Lagoon had to be drained occasionally for cleaning. Besides wreaking havoc on Disneyland’s water bill, the Lagoon was ... difficult to maintain because divers had to be sent underwater every night to clean up debris and fix the audio-animatronics whenever they broke down.

The trip from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles will mark the second consecutive year that the National Thanksgiving Turkey has celebrated his pardon at Disneyland. Accompanied by National Turkey Federation Chairman Mike Briggs, Flyer, a 20-week-old, 36-pound tom turkey, will be the grand marshal in a special Thanksgiving Day parade down Main Street U.S.A. Following the parade, Flyer his alternate Fryer will find a home at Santa's Reindeer Round-Up at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland, where they'll remain throughout the holidays and the rest of their lives.
