For over 36 years, guests at Disneyland® have challenged their wills and set sail with the rowdiest crew of jolly reveling pirates who ever plundered the Spanish Main. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” attraction in New Orleans Square at Disneyland made its marauding debut in the spring of 1967. At its grand opening, with a group of special guests in attendance, a crew of Disneyland pirates commandeered the Sailing Ship Columbia and fought sword battles through New Orleans Square. -- NewTek (DEMO@15) announced that its TriCaster Pro portable video production device was chosen to stream Disneyland's media event to commemorate the return of the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage attraction. Four TriCaster Pro models were used to stream live programming over the Internet from the Disneyland property, as well as exclusive Web coverage of the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony. On May 5, 2005, famed Hollywood star Steve Martin will return to Disneyland in the all-new attraction "Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years" at the Main Street Opera House in Town Square. As a teenager growing up in Orange County, California (home of the Disneyland Resort), Martin spent time working at the Magic Shop on Main Street, USA where he honed his talents for magic, juggling and creating balloon animals.

Periodically through recent decades (and most recently during the summers of 2005 and 2006), Mickey Mouse has climbed the Matterhorn attraction several times a day with the support of his friends Minnie, Goofy, and some Disneyland guests. Other mountain climbers could ... be seen on the Matterhorn from time to time. As of Spring 2007, Mickey and his "toon" friends no longer climb the Matterhorn but the climbing program continues.
