built 219 days ago
From 2002 - present, Disney Channel used Mickey Mouse's face again, this time with the "Disney Channel" logo. From 2002 - 2007, the face bounced from corner to corner of the screen. They show which 2 shows are next. At the beginning of each movie's, or each episode's, part, the face bounced to the screen and show what show they are watching.
From the Los Angeles Times, " Fairy Tale Ending to a Real Disney Story" Studio restores Walt's first animated work - long lost, but rediscovered by chance. By Charles Solomon. Used without Permission:::::::: Six years before Mickey Mouse made his debut in " Steamboat Willie," there was " Little Red Riding Hood" -- Walt Disney's first animated work, a seven minute silent cartoon that the 21-year-old completed while struggling as a commercial artist in Kansas City. It was 1922 and the beginning of Disney's dream to make films that would tell stories and compete in the growing animation industry. Buth this and other early animated fairy tale ventures failed -- a dubious start to the kingdom he would come to build. Though it is documented in various Disney biographies and histories, " Little Red Riding Hood" has long been considered a lost treasure.
Following two failed MVNOs in the US, Disney ( NYSE: DIS) has gone to Japan, where on Saturday, it launched an MVNO--Disney Mobile--with Softbank, the country’s third largest operator. AFP reports that three Disney branded mobiles from Sharp—all covered with the silhouetted patterns of Mickey Mouse, were released for the launch. The handsets let users jump directly to Disney websites, while Disney content, such as its characters can be used on standby screens and to placed in emails for free. Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun said that the service is being targeted at girls and young women, with pictograms and ring alerts designed especially for them.  Ovum wonders if Disney is “jumping head first into yet another potentially costly blunder,” noting that the company not only had two failed MVNOs in the US, but ... abandoned its plans to launch one in the UK two years ago. So what’s different in Japan? The technology research and analysis firm notes that this time around, the MVNO is a joint venture, with Softbank sharing the burden, as well as handling the back-end operations, customer services and sales, leaving Disney to concentrate on marketing and branding.
Since 1938 Disney has been a frequent presence in the world-famous Rose Parade. The traditional visits of the Rose Bowl teams and the Rose Queen and her court to Disneyland began in 1960 and continue today. Both Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse have served as grand marshals of the parade (in 1966 and 2005 respectively). The 2005 Rose Parade featured the official unveiling of the celebration saluting 50 years of Disney theme park magic, featuring a spectacular kick-off show and parade entry.

Disney began a new program today, where they will be selling items that guests in most of their resort hotels see and use on a regular basis. The Disney Resort Collection website is selling everything from linens to bath accessories that you can now make a part of your home. All of the items for sale are new of course, nothing in the collection is used like the hotel items you may purchase through Mousesurplus on Ebay. There is not much distinctly Disney in the collection yet, other than a Mickey Mouse lamp you’ll find if you stay at the Grand Floridian Resort. To see what the collection has to offer and maybe make some purchases, visit the collection HERE.
In the fall of 2005, several Muppets were featured in a series of Disney Channel identification promos. Disney Channel rans a series of channel identification promos featuring Disney stars and characters proclaiming "I'm so-and-so, and you're watching Disney Channel". Then they wave a magical wand, drawing the Disney Channel logo (a tilted Mickey Mouse Head outline). The promos were played regularly on the network. Each promo runs for 10 seconds.
