Dishwasher: Heat
built 646 days ago
Putting non-reusable containers like water bottles in the dishwasher, especially under heat, may cause them to break down and leach harmful chemicals. Be sure to put only dishwasher-safe items in the machine, especially if you plan to eat or drink from them. Also, you may want to seek out a dishwasher with a non-plastic interior for the same reason.

If for some reason the water being supplied to the dishwasher is less than 120 degrees F, select a dishwasher with a thermostat and heating capability to guarantee temperatures are hot enough to remove grease foods. Check to see if the heating function is selectable, so it is used only when needed.

A dishwasher has at least three, but often six or more controls, switches, valves and solenoids. Timers, selector switches, water-inlet valves, float switches, soap and/or dispensers, drain solenoids, thermostats, soil sensors, door switch, drying fan, and the heating element are all potential types of items that fall in this category. You can find more details about each of these types controls at RepairClinic.com's site

To get the best cleaning results, the water entering your dishwasher needs to be hot enough. Try running the hot water in your kitchen sink for about 30 seconds before starting the dishwasher, to pre-heat it. Also, if your dishwasher lets you select a higher wash or rinse temperature, try that to see if it helps.
