FOX HDTV programming may be available in select markets to some DIRECTV customers who have HD equipment and a TOTAL CHOICE® programming package or the DIRECTV HD Package. The FOX HDTV programming currently available for eligible customers is from either WNYW (New York) or KTTV (Los Angeles), depending upon your geographic location. The select markets where eligible customers may receive the feeds are: New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, Boston, MA, Dallas, TX, Washington D.C., Minneapolis, MN, Detroit, MI, Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, Tampa Bay, FL, Orlando, FL, Cleveland, OH, Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO, St. Louis, MO, Milwaukee, WI, Kansas City, MO, Salt Lake City, UT, Birmingham, AL, Memphis, TN, Greensboro, NC, and Austin, TX. If you cannot see a picture on channel 88 or 89, and you live in one of these markets, you may need to obtain a waiver from one or more non-local FOX affiliates. This can take up to 45 days to process.

DirecTV users have been spotting HD content on The 101 sporadically for some time now, but it seems that the satcaster is getting official with its plans to launch an original series on the channel in glorious high-definition. Slated to debut on March 3rd at 10:00PM EST / PST, Supreme Court of Comedy will "feature real people trying their small claims disputes with America's truest judges of character -- comedians." Those who tune in will catch the faces of Dom Irrera, Jamie Kennedy, Sinbad, Paul Rodriguez and Tom Arnold, and according to DirecTV, it's "completely unscripted." Go on and set your HD DVRs, fine citizens -- you'll have ten episodes of this coming your way starting in just under a month.

DirecTV’s promotional efforts for its new package of HD channels will raise awareness for all TV providers who offer high definition, he said. The new DirecTV HD channels require a H20/HR20 or H21/HR21 set top box (STB). In order to receive the new HD channels (channels added in late September 2007), viewers must have a B-Band converter installed. If the converter is not installed, viewers can only receive older HD channels (channels 70-99). The HR20 and HR21 are HD digital video recorder (DVR) models.

DIRECTV, the nation’s leading satellite television service provider, announced today the addition of even more national HD channels including MTV Networks’ MTV HD, VH1 HD, Spike HD, Nickelodeon HD, CMT HD, as well as five new HD pay-per-view channels. Bio HD, a new HD channel, will join the lineup at the end of the month.
