[A]s part of a Diploma in engineering, learners will have the opportunity to study physics and have direct involvement with how physics is applied in the workplace through a project in a local engineering company. The result will be more engaged and enthusiastic learners who understand the purpose of what they are learning, as they see their newly-acquired knowledge and skills in action.

Diploma mills are frequently named to sound confusingly similar to those of prestigious, accredited academic institutions. Despite the fact that trademark law is intended to prevent this situation, diploma mills continue to employ various methods to avoid legal recourse. An example of this is Thomas James Kirk's LaSalle University. In their marketing and advertising campaigns, the mills will often misleadingly claim to be "accredited" when, in fact, many are found to have been endorsed by "dummy" accreditation boards set up by company affiliates. In an attempt to appear more legitimate to potential students, accreditation mills based in the United States may model their websites after real accrediting agencies overseen by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Some may even advertise services for transcript notation and diploma verification in order to seem more legitimate.

The Diploma of Intellectual Property incorporates the same course work as the Master of Intellectual Property, but is designed for students who cannot spend an entire year in residence. The Diploma program includes the option of a one month internship at a corporation or law firm. Students may begin the Diploma program in the Fall or Spring semester.

On weekend one of the Diploma Course, students will be given a list of tutors. The individual student will then be responsible for contacting his/her tutor - usually in their own area - and to meet for an hour's tutorial at least once after each lecture weekend. At these sessions the tutor will check that the student fully understands the content of the previous weekend, will discuss the procedures the student is using with their subjects/patients, and will assess the hypnotherapeutic skills of the student. Because of its importance, the LCCH has arranged a nominal charge of £20 (UK pounds) per hour of tutorial. Students will be expected to make individual arrangements with their tutors regarding payment. A minimum of twelve supervisory sessions are required as part of the Diploma Course and exam structure.
